Viktor Sheleg
Viktor Sheleg (1962, Leningrad Oblast, Russian SFSR) – a painter.
Viktor Sheleg was born in the town of Lomonosov, by Leningrad (now Saint-Petersburg). At the age of three he moved to Latvia together with his parents and spent his childhood and teenage years in Liepāja. He acquired the profession of an artist by himself, without receiving any special education.
Sheleg has been painting with oil since the age of 12. In 1993 he participated in his first exhibition in Liepāja. In 1994 Sheleg had his debut personal exhibition at the ARS MODERNA gallery in Riga. For many years he had been residing in the Czech Republic and Spain. His works were exhibited in Russia, France, Finland, Australia and the USA.
Over the years from 1990 to 2019, Viktor Sheleg created more than 1900 paintings, and almost all of them are in private collections.
