Nikolay Krivoshein
Nikolay Krivoshein (1960, Kirov, Russian SFSR) – an artist.
Nikolay Krivoshein graduated from the Riga Institute of Engineers of Civil Aviation. Simultaneously with he studies at the institute, he attended the drawing and painting studio of Abram Bykov (1978-1990) and the drawing studio of Vitaly Karkunov (1990-1993). From 1993 to 1996 had been studying at the Latvian Academy of Arts on the department of painting. In 1996-1997 studied at the class of easel painting by professors Imants Vecozols and Vilis Ozols (BA). In 1997-1999 continued his studies at the class of mural by professors Aleksey Naumov and Kaspars Zariņš. After graduation from the Academy in 1999 was accepted into the Union of Artists of Latvia. Since 2003 - a member of the Professional Union of Artists of Russia. Has been teaching since 1995.
Nikolay Krivoshein’s art is born out of the interface of Latvian and Russian art schools. His quest for colour correlations brought him into the Latvian abstractionist camp.
His works can be found in state and private collections in Latvia, Estonia and Russia.
