Valeria Shuvalova

Valeria Shuvalova (nee - Habatcheva, 25th of June 1956, Liepaja, Latvian SSR – 31st of July 2002, Riga, Republic of Latvia) –  a painter.

Valeria grew up in Riga. Her father was a pilot of civil aviation, while her mother worked in the field of Soviet trade. In 1973 the future artist graduated from Riga Secondary School Nr. 34. 

Before enrolling to the department of painting of Latvian State Academy of Arts (LSAA) Valeria worked as a decorator at the cosmetics and perfume factory "Dzintars", as well as at the brewing and winemaking plant "Rīga". She graduated from the LSAA in 1985. 

Shuvalova had been participating in exhibitions since 1985. She was a member of the groups of independent Riga artists "Independent Art" and "Aspect". She participated in the exhibitions in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Russia and USA. 

Valeria Shuvalova died on 31st of July 2002.

Her works can be found in state and private collections in Latvia, Russia (inclung the fond of the Ministry of Culture), Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, France, USA and Izrael.
