Alexander Serzhant

Alexander Serzhant (2nd of August 1953, Riga, Latvian SSR) – an artist, works in the technique of encaustic painting.

In 1979 Alexander Serzhant graduated from Rigal Politechnic Institute. In 1980 he enrolled into the independent Leningrad Art Academy. There he participated in his first exhibitions, which where organized in the style of „Apart-Art“. He also directed fims and was the chief editor of an independent art and literature magazine "The Third Modernization" (rus. Третья модернизация).

Serzhant participated in many exhibitions, which took place in Moscow, Leningrad, Riga, Amsterdam, Belgrade and various cities of Germany. Alexander Serzhant was a stipendiary of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
