The ‘Bayan’ Society – one of the oldest Russian associations in Latvia

The society resumed its work in 1929. ‘Bayan’ was made up of a choir directed by M. F. Grivsky, S. M Krasnoperov’s orchestra of national instruments, N. S. Barabanov’s literature and theatre studio and an opera ensemble directed by N. I. Vasilyev
