The Riga Electro-machinery Construction Works
The Riga Electro-machinery Construction Works started functioning in 1946 on the site of the former ‘Provodnik’ workshops. The Riga Electro-machinery Construction Works specialised in the production of electrical equipment for trains. In 1950 the factory was the first in the Soviet Union to take up the manufacture of household washing machines.
A great contribution to the formation and development of the concern was made by its managers: M. Fesenko (1957 – 1972) and O. Anfimov (1981 – 1983).
