Nikolay Alekseyev

Nikolay Alekseyev (1911, Riga, Russian Empire – 1962, Riga, Latvian SSR)  –  director of the factory VEF from 1958 to 1962.

Nikolay Alekseyev was born in Riga in  the family of old believers. He graduated from the Mechanical faculty of  the University of Latvia and worked as a researcher. In 1940-41 worked in the Mechanical department of the factory “VEF”. N. Alekseyev was a participant of the Great Patriotic War, served in Latvian riflemen division. After the war resumed his work in “VEF” where he occupied executive positions.

From 1955 to 1959 he was the director of Riga Popov Radio factory. In 1958 was appointed director of “VEF” where he demonstrated great leadership skills, knowledge of production and high integrity.
