Memorial to the Russian Soldiers in the Pokrov Cemetery in Riga, established in 1928. The memorial was designed by architect Vladimir Shervinsky.

Tens of thousands of Russian fighters, who perished in Latvia, hundreds of military burials throughout Latvia make for grim memories of the First World War.

The First World War involved 34 states. This war cost mankind 10 million dead and 20 million wounded.
