Dmitry Bondarev

Dmitry Bondarev (1878-1937) – constructor of cars.

Dmitry Bondarev got a diploma of engineer-technologist in 1909 and was invited to work in Riga at Russo-Balt carriage works which specialized in manufacturing railway carriages and cars. Сar-manufacturing department of Russo-Balt occupied a great place in this industry in the Russian Empire.

D. Bondarev lived in Riga about 5 years. In 1915 Russo-Balt was evacuated from Riga due to the beginning of war activities.

D. Bondarev held high-rank offices in the Supreme Board of Economy of the Soviet Russia, was a technical leader of the project on the establishment of the factory «Rosselmash».

In 1937 D. Bondarev was arrested and shot but in 1957 an outstanding designer was rehabilitated.
