Mstislav Keldysh

Mstislav Keldysh (1911, Riga, Russian Empire – 1978, Moscow, Russian SFSR) –  academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, President of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR from 1961 to 1975.

Born in Riga. Author of basic studies in mathematics, aero-dynamics and hydro-dynamics. Made a large contribution to implementing programmes for manned space flights and to researching the near space.
