Alexander Mitrofanov
Alexander Nikitich Mitrofanov (1859, Pskov Governorate, Russian Empire – 1941, Daugavpils, Ostland / Latvia) – an entrepreneur, owner of a bakery and shops, public figure. Lived and worked in Daugavpils (Dinaburg-Dvinsk).
The Mitrofanovs’ Company was founded in Dinaburg (now Daugavpils) in 1882. The Mitrofanovs owned bakeries making bread, cakes and other products, and a grocery store. The Mitrofanovs’ products were widely known outside Daugavpils. The high quality of the products was valued at international exhibitions, where the bakery gained 11 medals.
